Ski Touring

Ski touring is the purest form of mountain skiing — climb under your own power, earn every turn, and discover untouched terrain far from the lifts.

From relaxed day tours in the Aiguilles Rouges to committing ski mountaineering lines on alpine summits, every trip is tailored to your ability, goals, and snow conditions. Whether you’re looking for your first ski tour, a steep couloir challenge, or a multi-day hut adventure, the possibilities are endless.

Overview

The Alps offer world-class terrain for ski touring — vast glaciers, quiet valleys, and wild peaks waiting to be explored.
Ski touring days focus on movement, route-finding, and efficient uphill travel, combined with unforgettable descents in pristine snow.
For the more experienced, ski mountaineering adds an extra dimension — technical ascents, ropework, and steeper lines on high alpine peaks.
Every program is fully customized to your ability, fitness, and objectives.

Ability Level

  • Suitable for intermediate to advanced skiers comfortable off-piste.

  • Previous touring experience helpful but not required for introductory days.

  • For steep or glaciated tours, solid skiing ability and good fitness are essential.

  • Custom instruction available for kick turns, skinning technique, transitions, and safe travel on glaciers.

Meeting Point

  • Usually Chamonix, but also available across the Alps (Aosta Valley, Verbier, Zermatt, Gran Paradiso, and beyond).

  • For multi-day tours, meeting points are arranged based on the chosen itinerary.

  • Start times vary depending on weather, elevation, and snow conditions.

Typical Itinerary

Single-Day Ski Touring:

Explore the backcountry of Chamonix or nearby valleys. Focus on technique, efficient uphill movement, and great descents in safe conditions.

Multi-Day Tours & Hut Trips:

Combine several summits and descents in one journey. Experience classic routes like the Haute Route (Chamonix–Zermatt), the Gran Paradiso area, or the Silvretta Alps.

Ski Mountaineering & Steep Lines:

For experienced skiers looking for challenge — link technical ascents with bold descents on glaciated faces, ridges, and couloirs. Each line is chosen based on conditions, safety, and your comfort level.
