Terms and Conditions
All mountain activities involve inherent risks, including those related to weather, terrain, and altitude. By booking a trip, participants confirm that they understand and accept these risks, are in suitable physical condition, and hold valid rescue and travel insurance. All programs are subject to the guide’s professional judgment, current mountain conditions, and the Terms & Conditions outlined on this website.

Professional Standards
All guiding activities are conducted by an IFMGA/UIAGM-certified mountain guide, in accordance with the professional and ethical standards of the international guiding associations.
Your safety, experience, and enjoyment are my top priorities. However, it’s important to understand that mountaineering, skiing, and climbing involve inherent risks that can never be completely eliminated, even under professional guidance.
By booking a trip, you acknowledge that you are aware of these risks and accept them as part of mountain travel.
Booking and Payment
A booking is considered confirmed once a deposit has been received.
-
The deposit amount is generally 30–50% of the total trip cost (depending on the program).
-
The remaining balance is due no later than 14 days before the start of the trip, unless otherwise agreed.
Payment can be made by bank transfer, credit card, or other agreed method.
Prices are listed in euros (€) unless otherwise stated.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your booking:
-
More than 60 days before the trip: full refund minus a €100 administration fee.
-
Between 30 and 60 days before: 50% refund of the total trip cost.
-
Less than 30 days before: no refund, unless the spot can be rebooked by another client.
If the guide cancels the trip:
If weather, conditions, illness, or unforeseen events make it impossible to run the program safely, I will:
-
Offer an alternative program or date, or
-
Provide a partial or full refund depending on the situation.
Please note that no refund can be made for trips cut short due to bad weather, unsafe conditions, or client fitness/equipment issues once the trip has started.
Insurance
Each client must hold valid mountain rescue, medical, and repatriation insurance that covers activities such as mountaineering, skiing, and climbing in alpine environments — including helicopter rescue if necessary.
As an IFMGA guide, I hold professional liability insurance, but this does not cover personal accidents, injuries, or evacuation costs for clients.
Please ensure your policy is valid in France, Switzerland, Italy, and Iceland, depending on the trip location.
Risk and Safety
Mountain guiding involves objective hazards such as rockfall, avalanches, crevasses, icefall, and sudden weather changes.
While every effort is made to minimize these risks, they cannot be completely removed.
Clients must understand that participation is voluntary and under their own responsibility.
The guide’s decisions in the field are final and binding, especially in matters of safety, route choice, or itinerary changes.
If a client disregards safety instructions, the guide reserves the right to modify or terminate the trip without refund.
Weather, Conditions, and Itinerary Changes
The mountains are dynamic, and plans may need to change.
The guide reserves the right to modify, shorten, or cancel a program based on weather, conditions, or other safety considerations.
Whenever possible, an alternative objective or activity will be offered that matches the group’s goals and abilities.
Flexibility is part of safe and successful mountain travel.
Equipment
A full equipment list will be provided before each trip.
Clients are responsible for arriving with suitable clothing and equipment for the planned activity.
Technical group equipment (ropes, carabiners, etc.) is generally provided by the guide.
Personal items (boots, harness, crampons, skis, etc.) are not included unless specified.
Equipment rental can be arranged upon request.
Client Responsibility and Fitness
All participants must be in appropriate physical condition for the chosen activity.
Any medical conditions, injuries, or medications that might affect performance or safety must be communicated in advance.
If a participant is unable to continue due to fitness, altitude, or personal issues, the guide will adapt the plan when possible — but refunds cannot be guaranteed once the trip has started.
Photos and Media
During the trip, photos may be taken for professional or promotional purposes.
Clients who prefer not to have their image used publicly should inform the guide in writing before the trip.
Privacy and Data
Client information (names, contact details, medical forms, etc.) is kept strictly confidential and used only for booking, communication, and safety purposes.
Personal data will never be shared with third parties except when necessary for logistics (e.g., hut bookings or permits).
Final Note
Mountains reward respect, preparation, and teamwork.
By booking a trip, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions, accept the risks involved, and agree to follow the guide’s professional judgment in the field.
